Priya's Mendhi Party

Priya had me take pictures at her mendhi party in Aptos. Mendhi (or henna) is painted on the bride's hands and feet. It is time-consuming and intricate. Traditional Indian weddings generally are preceeded with a separate party for both mendhi and traditional Indian dancing.

Congratulations Priya!

Wally Boss RIP My Friend

One of my oldest and dearest friends died Monday in a mysterious jet ski accident on Flathead Lake near his home in Bigfork, Montana. Wally Boss was as classic as his name suggests. A naturally gifted athlete, Wally was a standout surfer, swimmer, skateboarder, snowboarder, fisherman, motorcycle madman, hawk trapper and birdman in general. Wally loved life and lived it to the hilt. Wally stories are legendary and as wild as they were, you knew it was ALL TRUE!

His work brought him to the wild North of Alaska, but it didn't keep Wally from surfing. He explored and found several excellent breaks that he would hit when the conditions called. Our last trip together was in Baja Norte last year. He was in classic form buying hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks and putting on a show. I included some photos from this trip. Wally, I can't believe your gone. You will be greatly missed.
