The flat spell of August was broken by a swell brewed from a monster storm off New Zealand

Surfers eagerly awaited it's arrival after seeing dramatic images from Tahiti

Thursday even saw the sun break out in the afternoon!

High tide & swell impacting the coast at 26th Ave.

The swell showed up just in time for the Wednesday afternoon boat races, making for some dramatic scenes at the Santa Cruz Harbor entrance.

Boaters had to pick their crossing carefully

The shorepound of the Harbor Beach was oftentimes bizzare

The beach at 26th Ave at high tide was radical

Waves washing over East Cliff Drive caught a few drivers by surprise

A dead seal even washed on the road!
